The San Fernando Drag Strip, in operation during the 1950s and 1960s, was located at Glenoaks Blvd. and Arroyo Avenue. Photograph caption dated May 7, 1959 reads, "Karen Griffin, trophy queen for Panorama City Kiwanis Club, 'Race for Live,' Sunday at San Fernando Drag Strip get help in assembling trophies from Dale Flummerfelt of T-Timers hot rod club. Prizes include $100 savings bond for top eliminator and $50 bond for top time of race."
