Description
"Weiß u. Schwarz als Kameraden (Kinder von Missionar Blumer)" ("White and Black as companions (Children of missionary Blumer)"). Four African and two European children in front of a small self-made hut similar to Chaga/West Kilimanjaro style houses thatched with the bark of the banana tree. A cross on top of the entance to the hut. Some of the children eating from dishes.
Cf. photo no. 50, album no. 17. -- Leonhard Blumer (1878-1938), from Kida in Estonia, served the Leipzig Mission as pastor and teacher in Arusha from 1907 to 1930 (apart from home leave in 1912-1913 and 1924-1926).
