Description
The opening of Golden West Motors Company in July 1914 came in the form of a parade. Led by a brass band, the procession ended its giddy walk at the company's location at Riverside Boulevard and Seventh Avenue. By July 1917, amid accusations of embezzlement and various financial woes, the entire company - assessed at a value of $1 million - had been reorganized. Without enough capital to survive, the company folded in the early 1920s.
