Pierce, 23, was accused of the kidnap-torture of a 7-year-old Canoga Park boy who was still hospitalized in serious condition at Childrens Hospital." Photograph caption reads, "Accused mutilator - Byron Elvin Pierce, 23, of 7758 Winnetka Ave., Canoga Park, is escorted from Van Nuys Police Station for return to County Jail after taking lie detector tests in connection with several unsolved sex crimes in the Valley and Ventura County."
