Photograph caption dated June 13, 1984 reads, "Lost Track - An engineer and brakeman were injured when a train derailed in El Monte near Santa Anita Avenue and Valley Boulevard. A spokesman for Southern Pacific Railroad said vandals tampered with a track switch. Loss was estimated at about $1 million."
