Photograph of American General John Pershing standing near Lafayette's tomb during World War I, Paris, ca.1915. The tomb is at right and is decorated by two American flags. It is surrounded by a metal fence. Pershing is standing at left and looking at the tomb. He is in uniform and holding his hat in his hand. Several other officers are standing nearby. There is a large stone structure with a wooden door directly behind the general.
