Description
Photograph of Wawona Bridge in Mariposa County, ca.1915. An automobile can be seen just in front of the dark opening to the covered bridge. The cover is wooden with a sloped roof and the bridge is fenced on the front portion of the bridge where the automobile sits under no cover. Support beams can be seen on the side of the covering. Rocks are scattered in the dirt along the banks in the foreground while tall trees surround the thin road on the other end of the bridge in the background. "The covered bridge on the original road to Wawona. It was built in the 1870's -- one of the very few covered bridges in the state".
