Description
Note: Sehr ähnliches Bild publiziert als Nr. 76 im Album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuenburg 1895. (PST). Note translation: Very similar photo published as no 76 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer' (='Eighty pictures of the Goldcoast (West Africa) by the missionary Fritz Ramseyer'), Neuchâtel 1895. (PST). - Caption there: "Synod of the Twi District. We see here the delegates of the Synod of the Twi District which was held in Akropong in January 1894. All the mission stations and outstations were represented. The proceedings lasted for three days - they were blessed days. 11 missionaries, 10 indigenous pastors and 53 catechists, teachers and elders were present. The picture reminds us of the parable of the mustard seed. Yea, on the Gold Coast too the Lord has shown his glory and the work has become a large tree and a source of eternal blessing for many. May He soon spread its branches out over the whole of Asante."
