Description
Image of four female can-can dancers kicking their legs and lifting their skirt and petticoat trims; border decorated with palm fronds; the poster advertises a show performed by Reilly & Wood's Classic Vaudeville Company.
Probable date approximated by cataloger based on 1890 newspaper article describing the show and referencing "the two Sisters Batchellor, Miss Watson, and Miss Emily Pritchard..." ("Reilly & Wood's Classic Vaudeville Company at Kernan's," Washington Post, 16 November 1890, page 12). "H.A. Thomas / & Wylie, / Lith 130, 132 & 134 W. 24th St. N.Y."--text, lower left. "The 2 Sisters Batchelor [sic] / Miss Minnie Watson / Miss Emily Pritchard"--text, bottom centered. "Les Quatres Danseuses Originalles De Papillons / From the Eden Theatre, Paris."--text, bottom left. "Always the best"--text, top right.
