Description
Photo-postcard of a woman named "Grace" at her camping tent in Mill Valley that she calls "The Retreat." Photo taken May 9, 1909, with card dated May 11, 1909. Postcard was not mailed so it must have been placed in an envelope, however, it it addressed to "Warren Lee Ackley", 1156 W. Third St., Dayton, Ohio", with message reading "Dear Cousin. How do you like my camp? Just got settled & hope to remain out here all summer if the nights don't get any colder than now. It was quite cold in tent last night - I don't close the flap - too ragged anyway, but a jute portierre keeps out the insects only. Have no platform. It is fine. Grace."
