Photograph caption dated May 18, 1936 reads, "Mary Miles Minter, once a star of the silent screen, is shown at left in court here today with her mother, Mrs. Charlotte Shelby, at trial of a complicated suit involving her earnings in films. Mrs. Shelby, who acted as her daughter's business manager, is suing a brokerage firm for $200,000 she alleges she lost through financial dealings of Leslie B. Henry, who is also named in the suit."
