Photograph of a portrait drawing of Colonel John Charles Fremont as he looked on his first trip across the continent in 1824, [s.d.]. Fremont is shown from his upper torso to his head and is facing to the right. He is wearing a civilian greatcoat, a white shirt and a dark tie. He has a thin beard and mustache and his curly hair is wild and unkempt. The bottom of the picture is embellished with decorative flourishes.
