Description
Taken in 1948, this aerial photograph shows Sacramento Municipal Airport. Currently called Sacramento Executive Airport, the spot opened in 1930, named as Sutterville Aerodrome, where it was taken over by U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Returned to the city of Sacramento after the war, the airport saw improvements during the 1940s and 1950s. In 1967, it was renamed to Sacramento Executive Airport, when the airlines moved to the newly designed Sacramento International Airport.
