Photograph of a dock worker "Coolie" loading a whole boar onto a barge, China, ca.1900. The worker is shown at center, holding a fatted boar along the curve of his lower back as though it were a sack. He is following in the trail of a second man, who makes his way closer to the barge in the background and does not carry anything apparent. Both men are wearing cloth boots, chinos and tunics. A third man stands in the background on a plank to the left.
