Completed in 1932 from plans drawn by J. Harold McDowell, the auditorium replaced Long Beach's first Municipal Auditorium. It was demolished in 1975 to make way for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
A young woman wearing a hat and a large wreath of flowers poses on the lawn in front of the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium. The famous WPA mosaic that adorned the arched niche in front was completed after this photograph was taken.
