Photograph article dated May 17, 1948 reads, "Minton of Heying Teckel, nine months old smooth black dachshund, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Heying of Pacoima, today was holder of best of show honors at the Dachshund Club of California's puppy match held at North Hollywood park. The winner is the daughter of Ch. Favorite von Marienlust, best of show winner at Glendale last March. Rebel of Jera, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shultis of Van Nuys, won best of opposite sex honors at the match held yesterday. A total of 74 dachshund puppies were entered in the match. Jay Retzlaff judged the match." Note: Pictured are Mrs. F. Hewing and Judge J. Retzlaff with puppy.
