Description
Bloom's Shoe Store was located at 135 South First Street. A neon sign reads "Bloom's." Other overhead signs include "I. MILLER SHOES" and "ARCH PRESERVER SHOES." A car is seen in the foreground. Opened as a clothing store by Polish native Meyer Bloom, it was converted to a shoe store in 1904. In 1913, the store was moved to this location and remained until son Max Bloom retired and sold it in 1965. The Knight Ridder building currently occupies this site.
