Description
A photograph of a Chinese man with baskets of vegetables, Los Angeles, California, USA, circa 1890. The man stands at the center wearing a traditional working man's outfit with a straw hat. In his left hand he holds a scale with a small basket of vegetables at the bottom. His right hand is holding up a long stick, used to carry two large wicker baskets full of vegetables, presumably for sale. He is standing in what looks like a residential backyard with a high wooden fence and surrounded by tall plants. The photograph is yellowed on the reverse, acid burn from adhesives but overall is in good condition.
