This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "The Death Flats McAllister Street where Tanks, Highwayman Robber and Murder [sic, murderer] was found. in trying to make his escape he was shot and killed by police officials." Photo shows crowd and police officers in front of a group of apartments on the north side of McAllister between Fillmore and Steiner. A city ambulance is parked by the sidewalk.
