Photograph article dated November 11, 1961 partially reads, "People in the Valley, with few exceptions, know what to do with their garbage. They wrap it, put it in watertight rubbish cans, place a lid on top, and set the can on the sidewalk in time for its weekly collection. Combined collection of rubbish and wrapped garbage began last week from 300,000 homes in the Valley and the western section of Los Angeles." Arthur Jackson, in truck, and Melvin Severan, with cans, make the trash route.
