Description
Deputy Police Chief, David Gascon (ret.) holding an open magazine, is getting his hair cut at Pacific Center Barbers, by barbershop owner Duane Shields. The reflection of another customer appears in the mirror to the left. David Gascon was one of three assistant chiefs who served under former Chief Bernard Parks, and was best known for his role as the department's chief spokesman during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. He announced his retirement as LAPD Assistant Chief in September of 2002, after serving the force for 31 years. Photograph dated May 2000.
