Description
Clarence M. Agress discusses his novel, “Spring Rain.” He begins by explaining that his book is about a young girl who is Chinese and Russian and is saved by an English soldier. He talks about the Chinese opium trade, and how leaders would control their subordinates with the drug. He discusses what life was like in the Emperor’s palace. Agress talks about his career as a cardiologist and how he worked on an enzyme test to prevent heart attacks. He discusses his time working in China and how he began to pick up the Mandarin language. He ends the interview by talking about how he has been writing novels for 25 years.
