Photograph caption dated September 17,1986 reads, "Lois Scharfenberg, right, explains how a troubled Cessna that had just taken off from Van Nuys Airport landed in the swimming pool of her Northridge home. Luckily, the two in the plane escaped with only minor injuries. Her husband, Carl, told authorities he was accustomed to having planes fly overhead, 'but never that close.'"
