Description
Photograph of a Pueblo Indian standing in the cliff-dwellings ruins at Bandelier National Monument, Los Alamos, New Mexico, 1900-1940. The Pueblo Indian is standing by a rock wall which shows small caves throughout its surface, while wooden poles are positioned diagonally against the wall. To his immediate right, on a lower ground, dilapidated small walls made of rock are visible in the foreground. In the left background, a vegetated mountainside fills in the backdrop.
These ruins are in the cliff walls of Frijoles Canyon and were inhabited by ancestors of the Pueblo Indians who live in Northern New Mexico.
