Description
Two women are depicted outside. The woman on the left wears a blue bonnet with matching ribbon. Her dress is light gray with long sleeves and a graduated diamond and stripe pattern at the hem, and diamonds on the lower part of the sleeves. Over her dress, she wears a black cloak with lace edging. The woman on the right wears a riding habit. Her Breton hat is green with a white flower and green plume. Her jacket and skirt are dark green. The sleeves are long with wide cuffs. The jacket buttons down the front and has a peplum. The skirt has a row of buttons down the side of the skirt. The skirt and jacket are trimmed with a band of green satin on the hems, cuffs, and lapels. Under her jacket, she wears a white blouse with a plain collar and a red bow tie. She has green gloves and holds a riding crop in her left hand. Both skirts are very wide; it is the height of the crinoline fashion. Behind the women is a groom holding the rider's horse, a white two story house with a tower, and gardens with trees and flowering shrubs.
