Description
Photograph of workers in an orchard, ca.1920. "Men are pruning trees that by painting of trunks white may be nut trees rather than apple during the dormant season". The men, in overalls and hats, hang from a large, skeletal tree on the right with ladders leaning against the white trunks for support. Several other men stand at center along the side of the road which runs on the left and one of them appears to be cutting beams of wood with a large saw. Automobiles fill the road with supply carts on the left while others are parked above the grass between the trees in the background on the right. Rows of similar trees stand in rows on the plots of grass on either side of the dirt road on the left.
