Description
View of Western Pacific Railroad train and its passengers passing through across this high trestle. Published: Gandydancers, pg 47. Donor/Source of Loan: Butte County Historical Society- Loan #443. "Early day railroad passengers on the Western Pacific got a real thrill out of riding across this high trestle. Some of the more faint hearted refused to look out the windows and even the trainmen on early runs were a little nervous. In time, though, this section of the trip became popular, once the passengers were convinced the spiderwork of timber could carry the load." From: Gandydancers, pg 47.
