Photograph was edited for publication purposes Bolton Hall, built in 1913, was originally used as a community center for the Utopian community of Los Terrenitos. From 1920 until 1957, it was used as an American Legion hall, the San Fernando Valley's second public library, Tujunga City Hall, and a jail. The building sat vacant while the battle to preserve it lasted for more than twenty years. Since 1980, Bolton Hall has been operated by the Little Landers Historical Society as a local history museum. It is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural monument and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (No. 71000159). Photograph caption dated September 9, 1961 reads "Its past--memories of social gatherings, city business, a jail." Tom Theobald is the Tujunga Postmaster.
