Photograph caption dated November 6, 1961 reads, "The Southland's first modern Town Hall was dedicated Sunday afternoon at the site of the new Balboa Mission Shopping center, Balboa Boulevard and San Fernando Mission boulevards, Granada Hills. Participating in dedication ceremonies are (from left) Russell A. Quisenberry, representing the California Newspapers Assn; Ernani Bernardi, Los Angeles City Councilman; Warren Dorn, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors; Mrs. Doris Rodger, mayor, the Town Hall Committee, and John Krause, president of the Balboa Mission Assn."
