The Eastern Building, also called Columbia-Eastern Building, Eastern-Columbia Building or Eastern Outfitting Retail Store Building, is home to Eastern Outfitting Company and Columbia Outfitting Company. This architectural rendering of the Art Deco office tower is by architect Claude Beelman. Caption reads, "Photo shows Columbia-Eastern at Broadway and Ninth street, which is launching a series of super sales in celebration of its forth second birthday. Inset is Adolph Sieroty, who founded the Eastern Clock Store with initial capital of $400. From this tiny beginning this large Los Angeles business institution has developed." Dated February 1, 1934.
