Photograph caption dated January 31, 1964 reads, "Judith Diane Goldman, 17, 18317 Kittridge St., Reseda, has been awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., Feb. 26, to compete for $34,250 in Westinghouse science scholarships and awards. One of 40 chosen across the nation, Judith is a student at Reseda High School. In her winning experiment, she infected a temperature-sensitive strain of bacteria with a temperature-resistant virus to find if later generations of bacteria would show a temperature resistance. Judith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Goldman."
