Description
Photograph of sailing ship deck covered with dead birds, ca.1920-1930. At center, a large portion of the sailing deck is completely covered with mounds of small, dead birds. Above the heap of poultry, a bundled sail strewn across a horizontal pole is seen. A large vertical mast is seen to the right of the birds. In the foreground, a lantern, pots, and a few supplies lie on the edge of the boat. In the extreme foreground, a section of the wooden pier obscures the photograph. In the background, several boats are seen in a harbor. A building and trees are also visible.
