As she steps from her ship, a former Army P-38 photo-reconnaisance [sic] ship, she is greeted by Colonel John H. Fite, president of AMC. Thus far, Miss Ramsey is the only woman pilot entered in the cross-country race, which is being held for the first time since 1939."
