Description: The formal opening of two lanes of the new Cahuenga Freeway was delayed after City Engineer Floyd Aldrich disclosed that someone "failed to tell the contractor the day and time of the highway's inauguration." Photo shows a section of the new highway. Photo dated: November 30, 1940.
