Julia Ann Gallup was born in Ledyard, Conn. in 1832 to Peter Avery and Rebecca (Morgan) Gallup. Arrived in California in 1854 via Isthymus of Panama. Settled in Sacramento. Was married in 1854 to Josiah Gallup, and in 1863 to Manville Barber. Died in 1917.
Removed from the Benjamin Franklin Folger, 1848-77 manuscript collection.
