Photograph caption dated February 15, 1957 reads, "Charles F. Bond, left, civil engineer on numerous Valley flood control projects, accepts certificate of merit for exemplary devotion to duty and overcoming exceptional difficulties in preparing contracts, from William Bruner, administrative manager of the San Fernando Valley Soil Conservation Service, right. Bond has been with the service in San Fernando since 1941 and in addition to the certificate was presented a cash award for his contributions."
