Gilmore Field was the home of the Hollywood Stars baseball team of the Pacific Coast League from May 2, 1939 until September 5, 1957.
Photograph caption dated May 9, 1956 reads "Fred Waters, left, and Lino Donoso warm up as Stars await clear weather to open series with Sacramento Solons at Gilmore Field. The talented southpaws were recently assigned to Stars by Pittsburgh Pirates."
