Leather-bound holographic diary, kept by E. P. Edes, describing his journey from Maine to California's Gold Country, across the Isthmus of Panama, in 1857, and his impressions of the mining camps near Sonora. Includes typed transcription of highlights, and full transcript, a PDF of which is attached to the record.
