Description
"Versammlung beim Häuptling Makaula" ("Meeting with the chief Makaula"). This photograph shows approximately eighteen men who are sitting and lying on the greenfield, three are sitting on a bank. They are wearing suits, jackets, trousers and hats. Some are holding their hats in their hands. In the background is a valley and hills.
Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa, was mission director of the Moravian Church from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop.
