Photograph caption dated January 2, 1959 reads "Gary Flood, left, 17-year-old Birmingham High School student accepts gavel, symbol of his new office as president of Valley Plaza Junior Optimist Club. Participating in ceremony conducted at Schabers Restaurant are Martin Gordon, 17-year-old Notre Dame student, outgoing Junior Optimist president, and Jim Grimsley, president of Valley Plaza Optimist Club." Schabers Cafeteria was located at 12141 Victoria Boulevard in North Hollywood.
