Description
Photo--black and white: Graton passengers waiting for the P&SR electric train. The P&SR railway allowed residents easier access to jobs in other areas when the harvest in Graton was over. In 1910, passengers were headed to Santa Cruz to pack apples for Mitchell and Goodall of San Francisco. Their route would take them from Graton to Petaluma to catch the paddle-wheeler "Steamer Gold" to San Francisco, then the Southern Pacific train over the mountains to Santa Cruz. The building to the left is the Incubator Building. Pictured L-R: Lela Reynolds, Margaret Gilliam, Victoria Barnes, Jeff Janes (the boss), Della Wirts, Alazuma Wirts, Edith McAnnich, George Wirts, Bertraim Bowers and George McAuley. Names written on verso.
