The moonstone has eight animals: four each of elephants and horses in the outermost semicircle; they are arranged in an unusual manner, viewed clockwise from the bottom; two elephants are repeated as the fourth and fifth figures, instead of alternating with one of a horse. The figures of lions and bulls and a semicircle with sacred geese are not included.
