The elaborate multi-leveled Victorian building (later La Verne College) stands at center, originally built as a hotel. A spired lookout tower extends from the middle of its front roof. In the foreground, several men stand between hedge rows in a topiary-filled courtyard. A man with a bicycle stands at the steps to the college while other men peer out of windows and off balconies.
