Description
Roughly 10,000 Japanese Americans were sent to Manzanar War Relocation Center in eastern California, one of ten confinement camps set up in the wake of Executive Order 9066. Henry Fukuhara was confined at Manzanar, and later established an annual Eastern Sierra watercolor workshop, some of which occurs onsite at Manzanar. This recording preserves his memories of life before, during, and after Manzanar.Additional Descriptive Notes: Oral History Interview also on tape Henry's wife Fujiko, taped in Santa Monica, CA at Henry's residence
