Description
El Segundo (pop. 7000) is situated 17 miles southwest of Los Angeles, one mile from the ocean. El Segundo Unified School District, with a total assessed valuation of $16,000,000, has expended more than $1,500,000 on buildings and grounds. In 1947, the school enrollment was approximately 1400. The elementary campus includes a main building, a kindergarten unit, a plunge building, a recreation center, and a nursery school. All but the recreation center have been built since 1936. Numbering on verso, upper right: 26813N.
