A residence, identified as the home of Willis Masters, in Pasadena, California, with two porches with walkways between them. A group of men, women, and children sit on the larger porch. A four-wheeled carriage is parked to the left. Title transcribed from back of photo-mount. Date devised by cataloger. Photographers imprint printed on back. Written in blue ink on back of photo-mount: "A: above -- 'W.F.C Master's House' (Wm Francis Channing, M.D. -- Home of Willis Masters -- postmaster -- S.W. corner N. Orange Grove Ave. & Kensington Pl -- about 1885 -- K.S.C.) I am not certain but think Mrs. Masters is seated on steps -- her daughter Delia at her left -- child at right Katharine Stetson (?)." K.S.C. is most likely Katharine Beecher Stetson, daughter of Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and who married Frank Tolles Chamberlin.
