Description
Image of a group of farmers working a threshing machine in a field in an advertisement for A.W. Gray's Sons of Middletown Springs, Vermont; two horses on a treadmill supply power for the machine while the three men load grain and straw on and off the thresher; partially harvested fields and landscape in background.
Dates supplied by cataloger based on printer and company history; Gies began printing in 1875 and A.W. Gray's Sons went out of business in 1917. "Gies & Co. Lith. Buffalo, N.Y."--text, bottom left margin. "Established in 1840. A.W. Gray's Sons, Patentees and sole Manufacturers. Middletown Springs, Vt."--text, bottom center of image.
