Description
Clara, the daughter of the first Mrs. Collis Huntington's sister, Clarissa, was adopted by Collis and Elizabeth Huntington in 1862. In 1889 she married Prince Hatzfeldt of Wittenberg. Studio photographic portrait, bust length; subject wearing a gown with tulle, hair ornament, and pearl choker. Photo is inscribed with her name and the date. The verso is an advertisement for James Lafayette's photography company. MS note on verso reads "Clara Hatzfeldt. Metcalf 1984."
