Description
Photograph caption dated November 1, 1989 reads, "Los Angeles County firefighter loaded handicapped kids aboard ambulances after their school bus crashed into three parked cars." While traveling southbound on Vermont Avenue near 228th Street in Torrance, a school bus driver lost control of the vehicle after he was trying to communicate with the students through sign language. Two of the cars were totaled and the bus caught fire.
