Communist Party leader Mrs. LaRue McCormick in court on August 11, 1938. She was arrested on July 19 during a Workers' Alliance sit-in at the Los Angeles County Relief Administration headquarters protesting limited benefits for the unemployed. She was found guilty, after singing in court as she testified.
